Ultrasound transducer modeling - NanoVNA, s2spice inside


 

Hi guys,

I'm working on ultrasound transducer signal conditioning (1-port device for emission/reception).
I have a NanoVNA to measure transducer impedance and I'm able to simulate it in LTSpice using FREQ with a custom subcircuit.

Question 1 : it looks like s2spice is not able to create a 1-port device because I need to choose between 2 and 8 ports on the CLI. Why ? Is there a way to do this ?
Question 2 :
- During the emission step, the transducer is a load for the high voltage driver, I can "easily" use my impedance measures with the custom subcircuit in LTSpice => cool.
- During echoes reception, the transducer acts as a voltage source of a few mV. How am I supposed to apply the transducer impedance ? Serie with a voltage source ? As a load in parallel ? Still not clear for me.

Any help on these two topics would be really appreciated <3
