How does Dan Silverman (a/k/a Prince of Petworth) get news of commercial real estate changes before anyone else?

Let me answer that question with another question: When neighbors in Cleveland Park or Woodley Park see a sign on a storefront that says the business is leaving/someone else is moving in, why do they notify Popville first? Why not the Cleveland Park Listserv?

Playing catch-up -- and giving credit where it's due to the source -- I give you the story:

District Kitchen Abruptly Closed in Woodley Park. However, “in about 30 days a new restaurant will open here…”

Thanks to Leah for sending the departing note from District Kitchen

Let me end with a plea to anyone who spots a sign of change on a door or window in any of the storefronts on the commercial blocks in Woodley Park, Cleveland Park, Cathedral Heights, Tenleytown, Van Ness, or Forest Hills -- snap a photo and drop us a note at clevelandpark@groups.io.

TIA!
