The Maine 3-Railers O-gauge Model Railroad Club formed in 1998, and has about 130 members located mostly in Maine and New Hampshire, but with some as far away as Pennsylvania, Ohio, Florida, and Minnesota. Membership is open to adults, children, and entire families. Our main activity is the set-up and exhibit of operating layouts of O gauge trains at many locations in Maine (mostly from Portland to Augusta) throughout the year, ranging from train shows to libraries, senior living centers, veteran's homes, and fairs. Each year we build a limited production club car, usually focused on a Maine business.

The club is organized under the laws of the State of Maine exclusively for charitable, educational, literary and scientific purposes permitted under Title 13-B MRSA §403, as a nonprofit corporation and for the following specific objectives: educate the public to the benefits of model railroading and to promote the hobby of collecting and operating O-Gauge three-rail model trains through its members’ activities, public shows and events, and to provide community-based programs that will bring a pleasant experience to our senior citizens, the general population, and particularly to the youth where the future of this hobby resides. Further, it is to encourage good fellowship among its members and to provide charitable, educational, literary and scientific opportunities for the members and the general public relative to model railroading to enhance the enjoyment of this hobby. We are also a 501(c)(3) non-profit under the federal tax code.
