I guess the run is finished for the Jack AI board never to be repeated? I never heard of it till recently. Is there any other board for using a Teensy in a raduino? 73 John N4HNO

JackAl: The Missing Schematic

As I continue my JackAl/uBitX integration work (yes, the wheels of progress turn slowly here), I have found myself wishing there was a complete, legible schematic for the JackAl, so I decided to make one. The recently released T41-EP main board, which shares several common features with the JackAl, has a very nice schematic, so I used that as a starting point. After spending more hours on this than I originally intended, I'm making the finished product available to the group. A schematic PDF file can be found in the new "Unofficial Schematic" folder in the Files section. If you find any errors in it, please let me know and I will update it. I'm thinking about providing an interconnect schematic, as well, if I can fit it all on one page. We'll see. Chuck NA1EE

Help on display please

Hi I am a bit late to the party but got stuck far from home because of covid. And was unable to complete my build till now. So to my problem I have the 7" display number ER-TFTM070-5 it has two pin connectors as per manual but it only has 8 pins on one and 10 pins on the other so the build manual shows 10 pins on both ? Also the Figure 2-23 wiring is not clear ? I cannot see the designation of th?e pins , if i have that i could probably work out the wiring. Any help would be appreciated Thanks. Regards Barry G1LHL

uBitx V5 JackAL Firmware

Does anyone have firmware they have actually tested on a V5 Ubitx ? Looking at the v096 firmware I downloaded from this group I note the following.. unsigned long usbCarrier = 11996270; and also... #define BFOFREQUENCY 11997100UL ... which seems to suggest the firmware is setup for a 12MHz filter which is applicable to the V4 and earlier. However the V5 and later uses a 11.059M filter as per specs and code.. https://www.hfsignals.com/index.php/ubitx-circuit-description/ .. look at the schematic at the bottom of the page and not the diagram at the top.. https://github.com/afarhan/ubitx_v5/blob/master/ubitx_v5.1_code.ino ... from which we find ... #define INIT_USB_FREQ (11059200l) I assume as this has been tested with the V5 at some point according to previous posts someone has an updated version for the firmware ? Hi all. I bought a JackAl for ubitx. At least a couple years ago. I also bought the teentsy and other parts. I had some complications so it delayed the work on this. Now I can’t find the manual and other relays downloads. Does anyone know where I could find them. Thanks. KE7GO STEVE

Finally getting around to this project. Wonder if anyone has suggestions about where I might have gone wrong. I'm going though the "Initial Checkout and Troubleshooting Procedure", and all is fine through step 3. Just to try out the Teensy, I installed the Blink program. I cut the trace between VIN and VUSB, put the Teensy on a breadboard (disconnected from the computer), and after applying 5V and ground, I see the LED blinking. Then I inserted the Teensy into the JackAl, applied power and I don't see the blink. I confirmed 5V and 3.3V are present on the correct Teensy pins. My setup can be seen in the attached photo. I am using external supplies for 5V and 3.3V temporarily. Nothing else is connected to the board at this time, and the Audio Shield is not yet installed. Should the Teensy be functional in this arrangement? Is there anything obvious that I'm missing? This group has been pretty quiet for a while. All who have built the JackAl must be happily running it at this point. Thank you. -- Chuck WB6GPO
