Happy Monday everyone! First, Brayden Traub-Jensen is running the club now and his email is on this message. Congrats to Brayden. Does anyone remember how to add him to the alumni email list? i forgot. Also, I think it is good to have an alumni game every year to stay in contact with alumni and raise funds for the club each year. I know not everyone can make it (I can't this year) but it would be good for the local guys to show up and support the club and we will do a bigger one every 5 or ten years. Let me know what you think on that. We need to stay involved with this club boys for it to thrive! We need to do a fundraiser for them also. Let everyone know if you have any ideas. So it’s been a few weeks. The last two weeks we played both Duluth and UND. When we traveled to Duluth, we only had 11 players due to more injuries, illness, and some player’s family members having medical emergencies. Because of this, we forfeited but still went up to play after calling upon the rugby players at Morris and St. Scholastica to join us (after all, we never back out of a game even if it doesn’t count). They did, and we tied 37-37. Paul Runia also happened to bring his cleats and scrum shorts, which was fortunate as we needed an extra sub in the last 20 minutes. As for UND, they forfeited since they only brought 9 players. I called Morris once again to ask if they wanted to play for UND and they did. We ended up playing 10s, winning 25-5, and then a grab-bag game of 7s. Afterwards, we invited them to them for drinks, unlike any of the other lame-ass teams, and fun was had by all that night. Our next game is tomorrow at SDSU at 1:00pm and then on the 22nd we play in Mankato at 1:00pm. Hobo day is TBD, but currently the women play in the morning and I’m looking at inviting Crow to play in the early morning or late afternoon after the football game, but that hasn’t been decided yet.
