storage
I have tons of cabs, well, not exactly tons of cabs, but plenty of them. They all need storage. Has anyone found a good inexpensive way to store them without getting scratching? I'd like to be able to see what the cab looks like without unwrapping each piece.

Rock Club Talk Needed for June 8th
For the last couple months, the Culver City club has been holding their monthly meetings online using Zoom. It's turned out to be a nice way to keep the club together and provide member services in the face of city orders to minimize social gatherings. Past talks have been a slide-show on mineral locations of Death Valley and a tutorial of sand casting for making jewelry items with a live pour using the technique. We are looking for a speaker for our meeting on June 8th at around 7pm. We do pay an honorarium. The club can assist speakers in planning your session, we can help arrange practice sessions, and we'll provide back-up tech help during your presentation to be sure that everything goes well. So if you might be interested, please get in touch with short description of the subject matter. - Brad Smith President info@...

December Field Trip
Come One, Come All and Get Your Agate On! The Culver City Club has arranged a field trip for Saturday, December 14 at 9am and extends a welcome to other rockhounds to join in. We'll be meeting at Justin Zzyzx’s place - 39184 Tami Road, Newberry Springs, to begin a day of collecting and Rockhound fun. From highway 15, exit at Harvard Road, (20 miles from Barstow, 1.5 hours from the Cajon Pass) go left, turn left onto Barrett Rd and left onto Tami Rd. A new Circle K has been built, very nice! (Don’t be later than 9 am or we might have departed.) There will be four locations to visit, all featuring different styles of agates, jaspers, and opalite. Easy collecting for all ages. 100% accessible for all car types. Tools Needed - Sturdy bags/buckets, hard rock tools (Hammer/pick), water spray bottle, safety glasses, and gloves. It may be wise to carry a first-aid kit. I also recommend a dust mask. Bring extra money for BLOWOUT prices on slabs, minerals, and tumbled stones Justin is selling, and you can also buy copies of “Rockhound Barstow” directly from the author (Justin!) For questions, contact Trip Leader Devon Lloyd <devonlloydexotics@...> or Trip Guide Justin Zzyzx

Using rock in your yard
No, Brad wasn't pursuing groups.io so I started it anyways. He and I are discussing him owning it. I have never used the archives so am not interested in funding that. I have no personal interest except to keep the group alive.
