Закрито Липкий Welcome to MachCNC on Groups.io
Welcome to the new home for Mach1mach2CNC as MachCNC on Groups.io. Below is the farewell message posted to Yahoo. The time when Yahoo will no longer accept new content for this Yahoo group is 28 October, only two days away. This group is being transerred to a new group on the Groups.io web site and is already in the transfer queue. This message is being posted because it has become apparent that the transfer will not complete before the deadline for new posts on Yahoo. Indeed it may be several weeks before the transfer completes as the transfer queue has grown dramatically over the past week. An archive has been captured in case something goes wrong, but that only preserves content, not subscriptions. Because of the delay, I have decided to go ahead and announce that the Yahoo group is closed and to enable new subscriptions and posts to the Groups.io version of this forum. If you wish to participate before Groups.io sends you a welcome email, you can register manually on the web or via email. Otherwise you should be automatically subscribed to the new forum on Groups.io once the transfer is complete, and an email will be sent to confirm your subscription or to not subscribe if you do not wish to join. The web link to view messages in chronological order on the new forum is: https://groups.io/g/MachCNC/messages You can also view in a format threaded by topic here: https://groups.io/g/MachCNC/topics If you prefer to interact with the forum via email, the addresses to use are: Post: MachCNC@groups.io Subscribe: MachCNC+subscribe@groups.io Unsubscribe: MachCNC+unsubscribe@groups.io Group Owner: MachCNC+owner@groups.io Help: MachCNC+help@groups.io Once the group is transferred, I will contact previous owners and moderators to ask if they wish to participate in similar roles on the new forum. If the number who accept is insufficient to assure the future of the group, new owners and moderators will be solicited. Hope to see you on the new group. Regards, Steve Stallings www.PMDX.com

Липкий Mach1mach2CNC transfer process has finished 8
Groups.io has notified me that the transfer process has completed. It looks like the messages made it OK. The files did not come over. I will try again, and upload manually from my archive if that does not work. Initially 8872 subscribers were being sent notifications that they were being subscribed to the new group. As expected, some people do not wish to continue being part of the group and declined to be subscribed. This is normal because many people joined on a whim and have moved on to other things but had not previously bothered to unsubscribe. Hopefully this group will continue to thrive. Both Art Fenerty, the original author of Mach, and Brian Barker the current owner and source for Mach joined this group even before the transfer happened.

motion
Is there a way to check if any axis is in motion, after you excited a mc.mcCntlGcodeExecute command in a coroutine so the motion is finished before another mc.mcCntlGcodeExecute is excited ? or before the coroutine is killed or dead Thanks

Touchscreen for welding station. 4
Does anybody have an industrial touchscreen PC you are using for Mach4? Do I want resistance or capacitive touch? What is the difference as far as feel/operation? I was looking at this one. https://www.touchtecs.com/industrial-touch-screen-all-in-one-panel-pc-with-3mm-front-bezel/industrial-touchscreen-panel-pc-all-in-one-windows.html Thank-you! Brian Martin

Mach3 mill stopped in the middle of a job. 64
I have a TAIG desktop Mill with a PMDX – 122 motion control board that utilizes a parallel port. The machine has always run without problem and in the middle of a 15 minute milling job it stopped about halfway and I cannot get the machine to respond no matter what I try. I even replaced the control box, which I had a spare, that included the PMDX -122 motion control, and Gecko drivers, and that did not help. anybody have any ideas what could’ve caused this? Thanks, Chuck

Mach3 not working 2
This is the second posting on the same problem that I thought had been resolved., But it’s not. I’ve narrowed it down to something that I believe might be causing Mach3 not to work. Configuration: windowsXP, PMDX122 parallel port motion controller, Taig desk top mill. Been running this configuration for years and all of a sudden it quit working. Tried lots of things to get it running again, with no success. Here is something I think is unusual that may lead to the solution . When I run the diagnostics with Mach3 and I click on the “mist toggle“, the red light on output #4 flashes on and off. See attached photo. This should not happen since I do not have output # 4 enabled in the “output list”, see attached photo. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated, Chuck

Mach4-ESS- No Motion
Hello group, I am looking for some assistance with a self-assembled CNC Knee mill. I used the PC the other night for another ethernet machine application, when I switched back to the ESS we weren’t communicating. So, I downloaded new plugin, which required a Mach update. Now we are getting communication, limit switches work, eStop works, but no spindle or motors. The ClearPath motor are looking for a motor Enable signal which is on Port1, Pin 3. If I set this to active low in the ESS, it will activate them and we can run the machine, but the spindle relays don’t work. Can someone explain how Mach4 toggles the Motor #0 enable signal on and off? Is there a setting in the new ESS plugin we are missing? We are using Mach4 ver. 5036, Ethernet Smooth Stepper ver.289, PMDX 126 BOB, and ClearPath hybrid servos. Thank-you! Brian Martin

Mach3 on computer with Parallel port & windows 10. 10
My old computer with XP crashed & I have found another one with a parallel port on it but it has windows 10. I have down loaded Mach3 onto it, but it does not appear to be down loading the driver. I have ran a driver test & the the result is an instant message saying there is not a driver. Mach3 will load & will function on screen with the keyboard arrows but the machine will not move. My parallel port connects to a Xylotex 4.03 board, which controls a Tiag bench top mill. I read some where that in order to use this computer I was going have to buy a different controller, is this true? If so, what controller do o need to acquire ? I really don’t understand all this stuff other than what I have read on the Artsoft page & Visio’s on YouTube. I’m going to be bald before I get this figured out. (No offense e to bald folks)

Mach4 build 5036 ESS plug-ins
my hard drive crashed, and I’ve got everything rebuilt except for the ESS plug-ins for Mach4 build 5036. I can’t seem to find the right plug-ins for that build, and was wondering if somebody could point me to them or possibly attach the two plug-ins here on the forum. thanks, thanks, Chuck

Strange Z behavior 4
Hi Everyone, Wishing you full tables, joy, and no difficult relatives tomorrow. I’m having a problem with my Z axis in Mach 3. I open Mach 3 , set my X, Y, and Z., load in my .NC file, and press start. I’m cutting a part out of 70# density tooling board. It cuts like butter on my mill. My stick out on a .250 3Flt FEM is just over 3 inches. When I press start, everything looks normal. Except the Z. I’ve zeroed the Z to the top of my part, which is 2.520”. At this point, my scale shows that I have milled just over an inch. The reading on Mach shows: 2.24”. It seems that for every .250: on Mach is really about an inch off of the part’s Z. I have shut down the system and waited a couple of minutes before starting the computer and mill. Then rinse, wash, repeat. Does anyone have any experience with this and what did you do to fix it? Thanks, Terry Wellman

NEW Steel 5axis CNC 3040 machine 14
Hello, I am now the owner of this 5 axis mill from Chinacnczone Store. I was initially going to get it with MACH3, the shop persuaded me to purchase it with Easycnc as a alternative controller software. This has been a retrograde purchase and I am looking to change to Mach3 which I have used for years. The issue is that I cannot get any technical, configuration info on this controller. Has anyone beeen here? The existing I/O box is a genuine B "Black Box" it is black, works, no manufacturers or Part number identification. In fairness it does work. But I wish to add control relays and have no info as how to, or configure the logic/PLC type control. Has anyone been here before?? Regards Graham

NEW Steel 5axis CNC 3040 machine ? Product copying issues 2
Product copying issues: I have at least three cases of my products that were copied: 50 years ago, I designed a police scanner radio that got popular. A US company copied it and “improved” the high frequency RF section to make the PCB layout “cleaner”. They did not understand that the strange layout was intentional. They never made it to the market. 30 years ago, I designed a money changer: A dollar bill input, and 3 quarters, 2 dimes and a nickel were dispensed. The coin dispenser section sheetmetal had an unused accidental hole. A US company copied it correctly, including the accidental hole, and marketed it. A few years later I was inspecting a company in China and their engineering department was busy copying the copy, also including the hole. What a coincidence! There are zillions of companies in China, and I happened to evaluate that one. 25 years ago I designed an RF transmitter with a digital memory to transmit recorded information on the FM broadcast band. Again, a US company “improved and cleaned up” the RF section. They never could get it to work properly. Bertho

Lathe G-code question, issue similar to threading. 5
n the attached pic, there is an oil grove that starts at the end, goes in roughly an inch in 270 degrees and then backs out in 270 degrees. In the pic you can't see the exit, but is 180 degrees from the entrance. I could write a threading G-code, or use a canned Mach4 threading program to do the inbound groove and then do a second program to do the outbound. But how would one "connect" the grooves together? How does Mach determine at what point in the circumference to start? Another option would be an inbound G-code followed by an outbound G-code. Then move the tool in the X direction. then do the same in and out G-code. But would the tool start at the same spot like threading? Thanks for any insight. I guess I need to go experiment.
