Ranger 10 roof peak curvature/gap 6
2022 Aliner Ranger 10 dual bunk model. I noticed daylight between the two pieces of the roof where they meet at the peak. The sidewalls raise up and lock in without malfunction - no scraping, no gapping as far as I can see, they just fit into place fine. But from about 3-4 inches in from each peak corner, there's an apparent curvature to the peak edges of one or the other or both roof pieces. What causes this and how can I correct it? The weather stripping appears undamaged, and the "daylight" that's visible appears filtered through something white/pale, which I assume is some kind of overhang/rain shield? But I'm concerned the peak edge is no longer watertight. Thanks!

Water under the rug on the floor 7
Twice we have found water under the rug (rubber backed heavy duty entry carpet) in front of where the a/c vents are when the a/c has been going for a while. Could this be condensation? What can we do about it? Insulate the floor? All the cupboards around this area are dry. JoeS

LED porch light feels hot when on 4
It was hot enough that I actually thought it was incandescent - until I took off the cover and discovered it was an LED plate. The light I'm talking about is the amber oval outside the door to the lower left. It has a rocker switch on the underside. Should I be concerned that there's too much resistance and it's a fire hazard, or what can I do to ensure it's not having some kind of issue? Thanks!

Converting exterior C194 light bulbs to LED's 10
I want to change out my incandescent bulbs to LED's in my clearance and porch lights, and I suppose the tail lights. Those are not the C194's. I know it's been done, but not sure if there is anything I should, or should not get. There are plenty of options on Amazon. Aliner Electric Brake Cable
After being away from home for a few days (not camping), I came back and noticed an electrical cable hanging down from our 2012 Aliner Classic. When I went outside I saw knaw marks on the cable, meaning probably squirrels sharpening their teeth. My local car mechanic also has worked on electical problems with my Aliner and other RVS and has an Airstream for camping. I told the car mechanic that I would buy the replacement cable and just wondering where to purchase it, locally, or by mail order (I live 40 miles west of Detroit)? On the "chewed" cable it is stamped "14/2 SAE 19/27 D23 PVC 60C Jacketed Brake Cable". Any help would be appreciated. Thanks in advance! Bob Krzewinski - Ypsilanti MI

Chasing electrical issues in used 2022 Aliner Ranger 10 6
Greetings. I bought a used 2022 Ranger 10, which I now believe could not have been used much, if at all, based on lack of wear in places that then wore heavily during our first outing. For example, the curtain on the kitchen side is pressed against the propane stove cover, resulting in a hole being worn in the curtain during our first excursion - although the standoffs are in place and firmly seated as they should be. (We put a towel over the stove cover, and this stopped the abrasion. But there shouldn't have been abrasion in the first place, that's the whole point of those standoffs on each side). Aluminum side rails have abrasion wear as well, where there wasn't any when I did the walkthrough. The windows in both sides keep vibrating open during travel, the thumb latch seems to rock loose as a result of road vibration. We discovered the door side was actually resting *on* the kitchen side window, so we added a silicone trivet to protect the window from damage or breakage. Aliner has been less than helpful, and the RV seller didn't receive all the owner and appliance manuals from the original owner. Pages of the owner's manual - like the wiring diagram - are missing outright. It was, of course, an as-is sale, and everything *appeared* to work correctly during our walkthrough. We set out on our first trip with a full new battery. On the third day, we had a dead battery. Took it straight to a great RV place, and they found the following: The ICECO Go20 12V fridge had been wired into the 15A circuit for the interior LED lights and Fantastic Fan. All connections within our tow vehicle were working fine, all connections at the 7-pin were working fine. After my begging, Aliner finally read me the circuits for the converter. They also confirmed the ICECO was original equipment on my model - and that it should have been on a different circuit. I had the RV place rewire the fridge circuit accordingly. After doing so, they ran some additional tests and the ICECO just repeatedly tripped the breaker they'd installed. So they pulled it out for bench-testing. On the bench, it *melted* the 10A socket and wiring (it's supposed to draw a peak of 5A). This seems out of character for ICECO, none of the reviews mentioned any issues like this. Aliner then informed us that the battery *cannot* charge though either the 7-pin or shore power because it requires higher voltage (over 14V) than either is designed to supply. They say that's why the battery was not recharging either during driving for 10+ hours/day or being on 30A shore power for 12+ hr nights. This seems like a ginormous design flaw to me, but I haven't found any good, simple guides to what it *should* be to work as-is. The RV electrician agrees that the battery should be able to charge correctly off either shore power or our TV through the 7-pin. Does anyone have a 2022 Ranger 10 dual-bunk wiring diagram to share, please? Has anyone else run into similar issues on post-2020 models? (The RV electrician we took it to seems to think there was a build quality drop post-pandemic.) I bought an Aliner because so many people buy them and keep them for years of use. The reviews were almost universally raves. I am, as you might imagine, deeply disappointed in the reality. Thanks kindly for any useful input or suggestions.

AC cover Susan Orgeron 6
Hi all, several members have mentioned that Susan Orgeron makes covers for Aliner air conditioners that stick out on the side. Mine is a 2014 Aliner Ranger 12, but it no longer has the stock AC unit, but a slightly bigger LG 6k btu unit. Can anyone please put me in touch with Susan? Can't figure out a way to search members on here or directly message her. I'd like to get it covered before we leave on a long road trip on July 19th. Thank you!!

HB9000 Heat Pump Duct Modifications 27
Hi, I was reading about modifications to the heat pump (HB9000) in later Aliners and am interested in trying to replicate what other members have done. On the Aliner Owners Club DIY page, a PDF is posted that shows how to make modifications to the ducting to make it more efficient. However, I am not having any luck trying to source some of the materials - specifically the 2.5" flexible ducting hose and the plastic mounting flange for this hose. Here is the link to the PDF file: https://alinerownersclub.org/wp-content/uploads/2022/08/Aliner-Heat-Pump-Fix.pdf If anyone can provide sourcing for these materials, I would be appreciative. The author is not a member of the AOC and there is no contact information available for him. Thanks, Steve Schmerbeck

Frame Issues 33
Hi all. I have been meaning to determine once and for all if my frame has bent. I have previously reported that I wasn't sure if the problem was floor rot, which I had in all four corners. It did contribute to the problem, but I have since repaired those areas. So yesterday I did find that the 2x3 frame of my unit has sagged. 3/8" from front to rear. I decided to jack the back end up enough to raise the wheels off the ground. It actually over corrected the problem without any other force applied. It went from 3/8" bow to a 1/8" belly. For the time being, I am keeping it elevated in the prospect that it will might help. But it does appear that it is flexible enough for me to anchor it midway to my 4" concrete slab and correct the bend, followed by some means of reinforcement that isn't interrupted by the axle as the OEM method does. Stay tuned. LOL -- Don DeRyke Sunrise, Florida 2009 Classic, 2020 Ford Escape, 2.0 liter EcoBoost, AWD. Previous TV 2015 Ford Escape 1.6 ltr EcoBoost engine.

Rear view camera 14
Has anyone installed a rear view camera? If so, how difficult is it to hardwire it to provide power? Where do you put the monitor? Can it be fastened to the rear view mirror - that would be a great place since the mirror is not useful when towing. Thanks, Don Knabb

Waterlogged roof panels. 5
Does anyone have experience with the above within our a-frame camper universe? If ‘yes’ - was it resolved, panels replaced or was the entire trailer was written-off? There’s a plethora of ‘roof leakage’ issues reported but none (that I was able to find) on whole roof panel waterlogging. A bud’s Jayco a-frame trailer has definitely experienced waterlogged roof panels. Roof panels were getting increasingly heavier. Friend was NOT getting any weaker! Replaced all 4 torsion rod corner lift assists. No change. An RV repair shop cited ‘waterlogged roof panels’ and corrected another customer’s identical issue by leaving panels upright for two weeks, drilling strategic drain holes and running ventilation fans to dry out the moisture. Problem resolved apparently. Got me wondering if: 1.) This forum’s frequent reports of ‘inability to lift roof panels’ could be caused (at least in part) by roof panel waterlogging (in addition to elderly weakening bodies?); and if …… 2.) Waterlogged roof panels are endemic to ALL fixed flat roofed trailers without owners’ knowledge unless owners are regularly weighing their rigs with identical content weight each time (very unlikely!). We've tried using the water heater in our brand new Expedition, but it doesn't seem to ever produce hot water. we have gas appliances otherwise working and the switch is of course turned on. What are we missing? Haven't called the dealer yet.

Grease wheel bearings 15
Hi all. I'm going to attempt this job myself as all the RV places in my area are booking into August and are quoting 4 hrs labour. My 2016 Ranger has the EZ Lube system. I've watched the videos and have two questions: 1. Assuming my Tacoma jack will fit, where do I put the jack stands? Do I need two per wheel? 2. Is there any particular kind of grease to use? The current grease appears to be pink. Any other tips appreciated!

Wheel Jack Procedure 2
As mentioned in previous post, I'm going to grease my wheel bearings (2016 Ranger 15 with EZ Lube fittings). - Assuming best to do with roof down of course. - Do I raise the stabilizers and remove BAL tire leveller so camper is just resting on two wheels and jockey wheel? - Then jack up one wheel (chock the other), keeping jockey wheel as is? Grease bearings and repeat for other side...

Roof weather strip - silicone caulk 5
Hi all. Replaced the 4" weather strip on the roof the other day and have seen comments about the silicone bead that goes on either side of it. Debating whether this is necessary or not, have seen comments that it's not required and will separate after 1-2 years anyways. It will be very difficult for me to do, so I'd be happy to leave as is.

Another refrigerator fail 16
Our Dometic refrigerator door came open again on a rough twisty road last week. After getting home we found the door cracked at the top hinge pin allowing it to sag away from the latch. Is my only fix buying a new door for $400 from young farts parts.com? New door or not I want a positive latch to hold the door closed while traveling. I had a rubber door wedge in place but that was not enough. joeS

Refrigerator Fail 7
My fridge (Dometic Model 2353), which has performed flawlessly for 15 years, woke up dead at my last outing last fall, and I’m just getting around to dealing with it. Won’t cool on shore power or gas. What diagnosis does that bring to mind? Is it toast, or are there remedies short of replacement? I have scoured all posts for ‘refrigerator replacement’ and the first 500 for ‘refrigerator’ before going cross eyed. Any experience or suggestions in here? -- Alex Sproul '05 Classic '02 Suburban
