Source for replacement SMA-SMA cables? 15
What is a good source for replacement SMA-SMA cables like the ones that come with the NanoVNA-H4? One of mine has developed an intermittent connection. It's one end of one cable, not the nanovna itself. I just need a source for purchasing some spares. I doubt the quality of the $8/pair ones on Amazon..... Thanks! Connie

VNA MEASUREMENT of SEVERAL of MY COMMON MODE CHOKES 13
A couple of days ago, I promised detailed measurements of at least one of my common mode chokes. Well, please see the attachment for those measurements. There are more, but the total document is too large for these groups. I don't particularly want to use the google drive (too much exposure). So, have a read of the attachment for results. Upgrade firmware through STM32Cube Programmer 6
I am a rank beginner in this. I just got my first VNA and it has the following firmware installed: ch> info Kernel: 4.0.0 Compiler: GCC 8.2.1 20181213 (release) [gcc-8-branch revision 267074] Architecture: ARMv6-M Core Variant: Cortex-M0 Port Info: Preemption through NMI Platform: STM32F072xB Entry Level Medium Density devices Board: NanoVNA-H Build time: Oct 18 2019 - 16:10:54 I went to the sites to find what to install, and there are bunches of choices. I need to know what to use, and how to actually use the STM32 to do the job. Most of the instructions I have found are for the DFU programmer that is no longer available. Who out there has the patience to enlighten a newbe? Thanks!

Hi to the group... I need some advice on a nanoVna H4 , new user. I repair old transmitters and want to adjust some band pass filters. I have had the unit connected to 2x test points. Tp1 on an rf board , tp2 on an IF board. Frequencies on filter are FL 8.295 FC 8.595 FH 8.895 I have used s11 as the output set as a Logmag. S21 as the return back from output of IF board. I set markers at each of these frequenecies and they are visible. With radio powered up , and vfo turned off, frequency is set to 20m (14mhz) and i see the bpf peaks.. My service manual shows the desired peak and throughs with a 3dB variation from FC to FL/FH. Fc is higher than others. It looks my my image is inversed and im not sure why. Both s11 s21 are in logmag settings. I have a start and stop f with the centre f also set. My upper dB is -10 , my lower is -25dB. The inverse image is a mirror to what is expected. Am i right in saying s11 is rf output , and s21 is the return to the vna. That seems obvious. My fL fH do not sit on the outer peaks of the image as expected and their wave paths see to go off into infinity. I will try and attach a picture here of what is see. Im not sure what else to cover.. A very useful PC application for the NanoVNA was developed by One Of Eleven as an alternative to NanoVNA Saver and other earlier programs. It was originally done for personal use but was kindly offered to the community. After development was stopped by the author the source code was released so that improvements could be done by others. The program is easy to use and has many nice features... - Multiple graphing options and flexible scaling options. - Calibration works reliably and includes averaging and smoothing options - Built in firmware uploading tool that is easy to use - Continuous run mode which is useful for tuning filters and antennas - Four memories that can be used to compare results in the graphs - Export and Import of Touchstone files (s1p and s2p) - Multiple marker capability with various display options. DiSlord and Owen Duffy have made several recent improvements and bug fixes. Hi all I recently bought this unit from DXEngineering. Hi everyone, I am looking to build a phased array of four antennas similar to https://www.egloff.eu/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=4&Itemid=136&lang=en. Can I use a nanoVNA to measure the phasing of the hybrid coupler? I don't have access to a 'Scope to do this I am afraid, but I think the Nano should be OK? Thanks Steve

Hi "Anything that can go wrong will go wrong." (and at the worst possible time) Just before going to sleep, an idea came to my mind. I think it is better to leave to install Ls, Cs, Ds, (even the transistors), wind the Toroids after we make sure the digital part of the transceiver works. Why? imagine you install everything and power up and you made a mistake and have the smoke If some thing serious, what a waste :( Make sure your firmware loads, up and running then install Ls, Cs, Ds, transistors, wind the Toroids vs Just an idea 73 DE muhsin TA1MHS

IFBW change on NanoVNA V2 plus4 (+4) 3
Hello everyone, I've recently bought a NanoVNA V2 Plus4 , and was trying to change the IF bandwidth (IFBW) to get a bit less of noise. Is there any way to do so with firmwares, laptop softwares or so? By default the device only lets me use 6.3kHz and has no other options, but on their website they post measurements made at 0.8Khz of IFBW... I'm running the latest firmware available on NanoRFE website. Thanks!

SMA to UHF adapters 48
Trying to look at return loss and SWR for my ham antennas on a NanoVNA H4. I thought it would be a simple matter to buy the appropriate SMA to UHF adapters and make the measurements. Turns out the SMA to UHF adapters I bought exhibit an SWR of about 2 : 1 each. I thought it might just be cheap chinese adapters, but even Pasternack's very pricey adapters are advertised at about the same SWR figure. Are there better ways to adapt SMA connectors to UHF connectors?

Hi! I bought this a few weeks ago and it started to freeze up very often. Then I flash FW from ver 1.2.14 to 1.2.20 (downloaded from github, Dislord. No change Then I flashed FW from Hugin79 ver 1.2.27. No change It started to freeze more and more and now it seems to be complete dead. I can still put it in DFU-mode and flash FW seems to work, but not possible to operate anymore. Any ideas? Regards

Hello everyone. I've just bough a NanoVNA V2 plus4 from Amazon and was interested in flashing the Ojisan firmware. After flashing via normal procedure as written in Nanorfe website, the VNA stays with the white screen on. Even after reboot. I've tried multiple firmwares from Ojisan and looked around for people confirming them to work on my hardware version, but can't find a solution. Do I need to change the flashing procedure? Am I getting something wrong? Thank you so much in advance!

NanoVNA-Saver SWR scale 5
Good morning ya'll. Got a question. I've been playing around with NanoVNA-Saver SWR readings. The default SWR scale seems to be from 0 to 25. I've read the scale can be changed by right clicking mouse button, but that doesn't work for me. When I right click a popup showing "reset", "Frequency Axis", "Data Axis" above the bar, and below the bar (line) it says "Save image" and "Popout chart". I click the "Display setup" button and make sure S11 VSWR is selected and the SWR chart is there, but I've not found a way to change the scale, perhaps from 0 to 5 for low SWR readings? -- 73 de Ken H> K9FV
